Hey everyone, I am having trouble with plastic melting whenever i drill it using the "multicam" cnc router i have at work. i am relatively new to the cnc game and am confused about whats going on. basically whenever i drill any plastics and nylons it just gets way too hot and melts by the time i finish drilling and leaves terrible finished holes. also the tool seems to vibrate way too much, it doesnt matter if im using a 3mm or a 13mm drill i get the same results. being a multicamm i do not have the ability to slow the spindle head right down, it turns between 9000 and 18000 rpm from memory. and i can plunge from 100 to 5000mmpm. plastics i most commonly use and are having trouble with are: Delrin - Nylon(lfx,pa99,6pla) - polyprop - hdpe any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. |
