    Red face 4th axis freshman

    Howdy folks,

Ok, setting up and running a 4th axis for the first time.

    Machine- haas vf2ss
    software- mastercam v9.1
    4th- haas hrt 210

What are the tips and tricks for indicating center on the 4th axis, and also establishing A0. ?

I was planning on machining a flat on my jig plate, and indicating across it to find A0. Would that then be considered my A0. value for g54 offset?

How about locating center of rotation axis? I'm going to use that as my z0.

    thx for any help

I have been using my edge finder to pick up the edge of the face plate, add those two radii and thats how far you are from the center of rotation in y. The face of the face plate is my x-0. I set my part in Mastercam along the x- with the center of the part right on the x axis. My rotary sits on the right side of the table facing x-. I used a stack of guages to set my tools at z-0, again the center of rotation.
