Hi, I have a job where I need to machine pre finished (mirror) parts. The chips from milling can scratch the face. I need to mask the parts w/ some liquid masking that won't tear against the forces of the endmills and not be eaten up by the coolant. I have looked into the following. 1. Dymax UV resin (to expensive) 2. Tolber (xp-2000 and mircoshield) both tear during machining. Also the masking must be removed via peeling or light heat (150deg max) We cannot use solvent to remove. Any ideas? -Park |

| The stuff they use on regrind endmills to protect them. Its like a wax , I dont remember the name. we used it on big aluminum parts that were polished and also on parts that had to be machined that are very thin to eliminate chatter, |

| I make a lot of lenses and mirror and use Spraylat http://www.spraylat.co.uk/industry_detail.php?id=2 You brush it on or paint it on. When you're done stick a bit of tape to it and just peel it off. I've also used Opticlean, it's more expensive but cleans the surface good when it's peeled off.
