I have a corn cob cutter like that from valinite that we use on alum and it works great, but just for roughing. The tools have a slight step out as they go down the tool, and make sure the part is very sacure or it will pull your part loose.
Is anybody using the large multi insert cutters on Alum..and if so do you have a brand..model you liked?
I am just about done with the final version prototypes of a 2 inch thick Alum part. I would like to use one of these insert cutters to do the roughing and finish while hanging out 2 inches. Really don't want to go larger than 2" in diameter.
Kyocera has been sending me sale fliers on their insert cutters lately (see Vid)
But you have to use a aluminum insert from a different cutter line...don't like the sound of that.. So lets hear it.

Just push the button, what's the worst that could happen.
Thanks for input. I would love it if I could get one to finish also. I have to talk with Kenametal this week..hopefully get one of theirs to try out.
