Early 80's Quality Japanese CNC Lathe (comparable to Okuma in build)
25HP motor, two speed gear box
Swings 25" over bed
Chucker (12"-14" chuck)
Approx 2.5" bore through spindle
Fanuc 5T
Brush Servo Motors
Spindle OK
Ways not perfect...but not terribly worn
X Ball screw needs to be reconditioned. Z probably needs help too...but does not show as bad.
Basically...this is a complete project. I would consider it only as a basis for a complete rebuild only if the motor/gear is in good shape, and the motor drive is in good shape and can integrate with a modern CNC control....
-Gut it
-Re-grind ways
-Rebuild the spindle (new bearings)
-Realign Headstock
-Grind/scrape in cross slide
-Scrape Saddle in square
-Align/scrape in Tailstock
-Recondition the Ball Screws, and perhaps replace the anchor bearings
-Replace the servo motors
-New controller and servo drives
-New PLC program
Basically....a new heavy box way CNC lathe at this point....
This is about $30K in expense...plus a TON of time.
Basically...I would think that $4000-$6000 would be about all that would be worth offering for something like this.
Opinions......
