Half this stuff should be compiled in a sticky, and recommended for all new users to read. By no means is anyone picking on you, shooting you down, or poking fun, rather they are just sharing their experiences, for free, and they will prove to be hugely beneficial if you can trust us. Keep researching, ask questions, and take a little risk, youll make it happen for sure

BANK!!!!!!!!!!

No Bank is going to loan anyone any money to start a business, unless you have collateral. Even if you own a business, you need business credit to get a business loan, and they usually want at least 2 years of being in business in the first place. With this recession you can get machines cheap. Buy a used one for cash.

Then you have to figure it's going to take you 6 months from getting that loan to actually making a part you can sell, with your experience that is.

P.S. If you haven't got the feel of this forum yet I'll explain. I don't think a single person responding to this thread is saying give up if this is your dream, they just want to make you SUPER aware having no experience in machining and being a NASA trained CAD developer means nothing. I literally could design my own space shuttle with CAD, every little bit, but machining it would be impossible and I've been working with these machines my whole life, mind you I make some money at it but I'm no trained machinist.
