Biglia CNC Lathes

Hi all. I have been working 2 Biglia lathes for the last year now.
I started this job after a few years of planning and estimating roles but I am at last back being productive.
I was used to 2 axis cnc's which I found frustrating as more often than not a part could not be finished and required another operation or two.

Now at last I have 8 axis to play with and a nice Fanuc 18i control.

Are there any other members using Biglia's. I'm learning from the book and my imagination at the moment. I have posted a video of one of my recent jobs.

I have tried running a macro that I wrote for chmfering a port but it was too much for the control to process.

Hope to find some ideas.

Biglia Lathes

These machines are imported into the US under the name of Eurotech Elite. Company info is as follows:

Eurotech Elite
1150 Ponce de Leon
Brooksville, FL 34601
(352) 799-5223
http://www.eurotechelite.com

They have a very complete and helpful Applications Engineering department that I am sure would help you out.

Thanks for the info.
I looked at their web site and watched some of the videos. There are some nice tools shown.
I will drop them a line.
Imagination is the key I think.

I work in Kent at a firm called ADEngineering. We specialise in complex mill turn parts, mostly using stainless steel.
What sort of machines do you operate? We have a 470YSM and a 658YS. Both with bar feeds. The 470 has a part collecting arm as well.
