fanu T6

Hello everyone,
I,m new to this site, I'm not sure if I'm posting to the right forum. I have a Pratt & Whitney TurnMate with a Fanuc T6 control (circa 1984) I just recently aquired, however I dont have any manuals. The machine powers up fine but the alarm light is on and the display says "not ready". The machine will not do anything as far as X-Z movement spindle, ect. Does anyone have any idea whats going on, or does anyone have manuals for this animal? I appreciate any help. Thanks, Dan

Are you sure the machine is powered up fully? No E-stops pressed in? Do your hydraulics turn on? That Not Ready message usually means something is prohibiting it from coming on completely. Make sure doors are closed, everything is plugged in.
Do you have a message screen? Not on your regular alarm page but some where around there there may be a key for Message which might give you more information.

Thanks for your reply, There are no hydraulics, it has a air chuck. I have not found a screen that gives any info about the "not ready' alarm. I have used many diferent CNCs but nothing this old. I was hoping someone would have a manual that could help me out. Dan:

"Not ready" on a Fanuc 6T means that something on the machine side is showing a fault.Usually the spindle or axis drives are not giving the control the ready signal. Are you running from true three phase? Do you have electrical dwgs for the machine?

you have to check the limit switch or tri to hold the power on button and reference the machine. It could be anything you have to check press switch, limit switch, or the machine keyboard once i found a disconect wire, there is a diagnostic that show the MRDY signal. I dont have the fanuc System 6 T manuals here maybe one on the forum can tell you.

Also check all resets, circuit breakers and fuses in the cabinet. Also make sure you haven't hooked the wild leg of the converter into the control circuit. You should be able to move the axii off the limit switches by rotating the ball screws. I would doubt a 6t would alarm out if out of phase, but you might try that also. Also list your location, someone here with knowledge could have a look, maybe over a few beers and a pizza, as long as your buying!
