NT35 Taper - Same as BT35?

I just purchased a used Kitamura Vertical Machining Center, and I'm not sure what taper tool holder it takes.

The manual says it takes No.35 Taper, which doesn't quite help me to determine wither it is CAT, BT or something else. The model numbers for the Kitamura-brand toolholders listed in the manual all start with NT35. So is there a taper style called NT35? If so, is this the same thing as BT35?

I do know that other Kitamura machines use BT35, but I suppose it is possible that they offered different options so I want to be sure.

If any of you have any information, I would greatly appreciate it.

BT35 is what you are looking for. You could contact Kitamura, but we fix them everyday. We have never seen another 35 taper other than BT35.

Yup, you're right - Kitamura confirmed it is BT35. Boy, there weren't many options when buying toolholders for that size... It was Lyndex or Lyndex! Not that that's a bad thing - its a quality brand.

I have a BT35 spindle, all my tooling is Nikken, but my machine has a manafacturers sticker on the head that says use only Matsuura 35 taper tooling!

There are loads of different pullstuds, the manual for my machine has a drawing of the stud. I found a site listing pullstuds and the dimensions, I couldn't believe there wasn't some sort of standard. Kitamurea and Matsuura use different pullstuds. If you buy tooling and end up with any of the pullstuds to suite my machine let me know, they are easy to identify they have a .539 diameter knob.
