Hello ! I need to buy a milling machine for making water block (copper ,brass ,aluminum..and hard steel ) .I see this mills machine but i don't know which one is strong enough to mill copper 1/2" thick or less .....

Sherline is a good machine, but small. It can only take very light cuts, it's designed for jewelry and small objects.

Don't bother with the second machine.

The last machine for only 200.00 is the way to go, it's bigger, more rigid and do what you want, quicker then the other two. It's the better choice and can be cnc'd as well. They can all be CNC, but the last one will be your best option.

Oh sorry about that. You need an X2. You have a small budget and the x2 sounds like it will fir your style. But importantly, what is your working cube???

Oh and unless you get a big mill weighing 500 pounds plus, your not going to cut through 1/2in copper anyway. You need to do this in multiple passes.

If you have the X2 work cube, get that.

Numerous thread in Benchtop forum.

For making water blocks that MSC mill will be fine. Look at the travels you get. The only drawback is if you were milling lets say a large workpiece and you had to flip it around . Which you would then need to raise or lower the head which then in turn means you have to re-zero the part back in. But for water blocks which are small work pieces you wouldn't need to raise or lower the head. The spindle has a fine feed on it which will be fine for what your doin. I have the Sherline mill and I have used it to cut steel and if I wanted to make water blocks(which is the original reason I wanted to get into machining and cnc) I could use the Sherline for that too. But bigger is better unless space is a factor. I'd go for the MSC.
