where to buy a variable speed control

hello I got this 1/3hp motor with a swicth just to turns ON and OFF, I would like to add a variable speed control , something that I can just turn a knod to go faster or slower. can someone tell me where I can buy on and also if you can post a picture off how it looks like a would appreciated, by the way it is a (single phase 1/3hp motor).

Sorry, but I don't think you will be able to do that. Single phase motors are pretty much single speed depending on line frequency.

To have variable speed, you will need to go dc or 3 phase.

I think you will find that is a simple Triac (dimmer) type controller, if so, it is only good for Universal motors, as found in mains powered hand tools etc.
A single phase induction motor, especially if it has a switched start capacitor, does not take kindly to speed control.
If the AC motor has brushes, then it is a Universal and you would be OK.

What is the information on the motor name plate, if it has one?
Otherwise you will need to know what type of motor you have.
