Found http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/tls/794872478.html, and am interested in machining parts for cars and many other things. Starting out with replacement aluminum pulleys and making my way up. This also has a mill which can fabricate a lot of other parts I need. Originally I was looking at an HF Mini mill and lathe, but this seems to be the same price, and it seems from everyone I talk to the bigger and older the unit the more it is lovedAlso in the future after I know how to do it by hand I'd like to convert it to CNC. Not till I learn it the right way first tho

Any input?
I dont usually like all in one units, and seems i remember reading many people produce these and they suck, but it appears to be old
this, http://tulsa.craigslist.org/tls/747416805.html might be a better starter lathe?
Theres also http://tulsa.craigslist.org/tls/740158485.html but I'm not sure how one would - move it?

The first one is probably the least rigid but has the mill attached.
The second one is an engine lathe, appears sturdier but no mill.
The third unit is a turret lathe, more for production but less universal than an engine lathe.
I'd say stay with the engine lathes. Personally, I'd go for the second engine lathe (if it passed my inspection). Get a mill later or as needed.
