Lightbulb What newer 5-axis machine do you use? Follow reply rules please.

I am looking into getting a new 5-axis cnc machine and I am really hoping that I can tap into the invaluable experience of the members of the Forum.

Our main application is checking fixtures/gauges with tight tolerances within .oo1" including compound angled locating holes/undercuts/scribe lines, etc. Require to use toolchanger for lights out multi-axis indexed 3+2, or 5a simultaneous machining/drilling (if that is safely possible).

Prefer travel abilities of X65"+ AND Y 35"+ AND Z30"+, (I put + sign because I really would prefer larger...within reason), but would like to see all size options greater than 250mm cube since it is possible for us to use modular machining.

I don't have a lot of time, so please only include the following in your post: (I hope it's ok to set these conditions)

1) Vertical Machine make and model that YOU actually use
2) Specs such as travel/working envelope, spindle speeds, rapid/cutting feeds
3a) Method of use 5-axis simultaneous or indexed 3+2
3b) Accuracy/limitations of the machine using said methods
4) Your application (what type of machining are able to perform)---just to compare for similarity
5) Any comments regarding pro's/con's of YOUR machines overall design and ease of use.
6) Any links to your model would also be appreciated.

CONDITION:

Please resist the temptation to turn this thread into a "my machine is better than yours" match. Please do not reply to other peoples posts in this thread...just add your own comments from "YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE".
If you feel the need to argue about your machines virtues...then start your own thread.

Your comments are valued, and I do appreciate all who take the time to help me on this.

I think you set too many rules on this one. The guys on here are geniuses, but do not like to be told what to post. I think you screwed the pooch. Sorry, I know there are alot of guys on here running 5-axis.

Yes, it probably wasn't such a great idea to say you don't have a lot of time to read through the information you have requested for free from other users (spending their valuable time writing it)..kinda rubs people the wrong way.

OTOH, wish I had a large 5 axis machine...if someone gives me one I will gladly answer you.

OOPS, not my intention whatsoever.

What I meant was that I don't have a lot of time before I have to make a choice on which 5-axis cnc machine to buy....that was all...sorry if that came across the wrong way.

BTW, I don't really think asking for specific information is too much to ask.
What I meant is that I don't want this particular thread to be a discussion.

My apologies if I have offended anyone....surely not my intention.
