ID for unusual cnc tool holder?

Would appreciate help in identifying some old tool holders (shown in photo below--or attached if either method works). Some 14 of these were found in our shop. We had recently given away an old Cincinnati Acramatic 220 so that might have been where they were used. We don't use anything like this.

Markings on some of these holders show patent 2960343 (granted in 1960), and part numbers of the form “T-301-D”. Any ideas as to what these are and who might be interested in them? Thanks, Paul

It's quick change tool holder.

I've used one similar for back spot facing tools on a radial arm drill press.

I think this one is for milling cutters.

Thanks very much, that’s the first lead after much searching. Cincinnati knew nothing about these. Would you (enat) or anyone know of a particular brand of machine that uses them? An interested party could have them extremely reasonably.

Hi Paul, I'm Scott.

I did a patent search, it was filed 4-6-1959 by Martin D. Elledge.

I remember seeing these and cutters near a Cincinnati Mill many years ago when I was a young lad. I may have one of these in one of my Dad's toolboxes, I will have a look. The cutters were like shell mills with the taper and a locking ball or key inside.

These holders look like Rapidaptor Quick Change made by Kingmann-White, Inc. They made ( I don't know if they are still around) master holders (R8, #40, MT...) to hold these tool holders. The idea was to be able to use the tool holders in what ever machines had the master holder. I worked at a university that had this system. The system was in "deep storage" so I never used it. There is a system on eBay right now. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for the info, and the eBay ad photos were great too. This was the first time I've actually found out what they were for. (It would have helped me to know if we had one of the master holders, which we don't.)

It looks like we're going to put them on eBay too, and will be glad that somebody will get to use them. This forum really helped. /Paul
