Converting manual lathe to CNC

I maybe able to get a Southwestern TRAK 1440P lathe. It has DRO but I'd like to convert it to 2 axis CNC.

Is there a definitive guide for doing this, or can someone point me to 'how-to' resources to undertake such a project?

I contacted them. It will cost $5295 to convert it. I guess I was hoping some had some plans that I could use.

There are numerous of threads in the forums about converting or building a CNC-lathe. For example, check the subforum http://www.cnczone.com/forums/vertical_mill_lathe_project_log/ and you will get a lot of useful information.
Just do it!
