    Lathe belt help needed...

I have acquired a Logan Lathe model 922. I am fixing it up and have nearly completed it. The last issue is it came with an old 1 inch wide flat leather belt to power the headstock. I was hoping to swap out the two step pulleys with v-groove pulleys, but the bore on the headstock is too large, and I can't find a step pulley that would work.

So my option is to find a new belt. I looked on sdp-si, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm hoping the greater wisdom of the forum will point out my ignorance and I can finish this project.

I looked on McMaster for step pulleys, but the largest bore they had was .75". Anywhere else I should be looking?

    Thanks in advance!

Also, I temporarily have a link belt on there, but the power transfer is not very good. If the lathe bogs down at all, the belt slips. But at least I can see it run. This is my first lathe, and I look forward to posting all the pics and using it when I'm done.

Buy a pulley with a big enough hub and bore it out to the size you need.

Thanks for the advice. Luckily I was able to find Loganlathe.com, and they have all the replacement parts I need for the lathe. They have some urethane belts that would be a bit better, so I'll order one of those. Although, they are not cheap!
