Choosing my next CNC Mill

Hi,

First post... been reading for months. I currently have a Taig mill and it works great for its size. Had it for approx 3 years now and finding it a bit under powered (i.e. can't use 1/2" or larger endmills and cut ipm too slow).

Been shopping for the next mill and would like some recommendation for someone more knowlegable. It is mainly for hobby so not really too much requirements... mainly for it to cut faster and able to use larger endmills... would be happy if I can cut using 1" endmills. I thought about getting a Bridgeport type kneemill... but it is simply too big and I have no room for it.

So far... my search taken me to Syil X3 CNC or the IH CNC. IH is about double the price but it uses servos instead of steppers and has larger cutting area. I like to keep it around $5K... can spend more if there is really that big of a difference. If only the IH is more compatible in price with the Syil.

Would love to hear comments between the Syil and IH.... as well as other recommendations for a large tabletop CNC Mill. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Ken

Why not the tormach? http://www.tormach.com/

It looks larger, but a lot of that size is the base & stand.

AFAIK, it's much more precise & well built than any X3.

Thanks for pointing me to the Tormach.. it looks really nice!! But I noticed it is still using Steppers... and cutting area is smaller than the IH. Anyone with comment on the reliability and performance of the IH compared to the Tormach?
