incomplete automatic tool change cycle

we are running a Kiwa 510 colt, fanuc 0mc.

when attempting a programed tool change the operation halts after the new tool rotates in place and prior to the tool turret rising to insert the next tool holder into the spindle.
It sits there with the purge air blowing waiting for something.
I am wondering if there is a way to monitor the limit switch states of the various sensors tied to the changer actuators thru the controller display.
Also we have noticed that the motor that rotates the tool turret is run off of 2 different relays depending on if it is commanded from the control panel, or from a tool change program.

We purchased the machine in this condition. We have been assured many times the tool changer operated fine before coming to us.

We can affect a tool change cycle from the control panel, so we know the mechanical portion is OK, but somewhere the signal to lift the tool into the spindle never occurs.

thanks for any insights

Gary

Tool change...

Not sure as to the diag #'s to monitor as I have no book with me. Just wanted to mention that the tool chage "in position" prox needs to be made as well as "drawbar Ret" signal. If you are hearing and airblast it is like the spindle is out of orientation and the machine knows it.

thanks for the info.
we can run a tool change cycle from the control panel, everything aligns properly, the spindle accepts the tool holder and clamps it up, the turret drops away from the spindle and then retracts out of the way.

It seems like the system is waiting for some input, but it must be one that is not used during a tool change called from the Kiwa's control panel. The problem only occurs when the tool change is commanded from a program.

thanks

Gary
