Dont quite understand what problems you are having.
It is sometimes necessary to "bump" your thread to get it seen. This is just adding a post so the thread comes up in the recent posts.

Possible explanations...

Nobody understands the question.

Nobody knows the answer.

Nobody who does know the answer reads that part of the site.

The question is too general and would require hours of typing.

The question is too specific so those with related experience feel excluded.

Surely you didn't ask a question then do nothing for 6 months, answer your own post, say what you are trying. People respond well to enthusiasm.

Remember we aren't paid to answer your question so you can't complain if you get no answers. Try to figure out where you went wrong then ask again.

Make it fun.

Ken,

Please post a link to the thread or give it a bump.

Don't get discouraged.

There are some brilliant people on this site.

Surely someone will be able to help.

"I need to do some work on my lathe that includes tapers, but my lathe does not have that attachment. I have a Hitachi Seiki 4A, and am wondering if anyone has a 3 axis vice for sale, that I can attach a tool holder on to fake a taper, or a taper attachment that will work on my turret lathe?

I am looking for a threading attachment as well, for the same lathe. Any ideas?"

This was his question, and I have no idea what he is talking about. Do you want to make a taper or what is it that you are trying to do?

Most of my searches for Hitachi Seiki show CNC lathes.
Is this a CNC lathe? If so tapers are created by the code and no attachments are needed.

klysons, I found a few Hitachi Seiki 3/4/5A turret lathes on the used machinery areas mostly dealers. Maybe they have the stuff you're looking for. These are all ram type turret lathes. The only taper/threading turret lathes I'm familiar with (not very) are the Warner/Swasey 3/4/5A saddle type. I assume there are others (Ward?) I googled Hitachi Seiki 4A and got quite a few listings.

My 4a does not have a threading attachment or taper attachment, I am looking to add them, make them, buy them, etc.

klysons, Which is why I suggested "Maybe they (used machinery dealers) have the stuff you're looking for." Often they will seperate or salvage machinery if no interest has been shown in purchasing the machine in question. Some have "spare or surplus" stuff laying around.
