Metalsoft/trumpf

I'm running metalsoft V11 and have a trumpf Tc2000, my question is about drill and tap tools and how to create and use them on the trumpf. I seem to run into a road block when asking metalsoft or trumpf about it. Any input would be helpfull.

Post Trumpf tapping

The best thing would be to have Trumpf send you a sample of the code for your machine generated from Tops and then get metasoft to match the code. I have seen few CAM systems that have been able to drive the newer Trumpf equipment correctly because of the information that has to be correct in the beginning of the program. You must have the tapping option on your machine and remember the taps are roll form taps.

E-mail me if you have more questions.

Sorry I do not know the metalsoft. If I were to guess I would say as a special or attachment, however, if your post is not set up to generate code for tapping it will still not out put the correct code. The Wittlock Engineering software that I use has the capability to use all the special Trumpf functions like tapping, ribbing, and high speed marking.

If you only have a few parts that need tapping I could make the program with my software. We could work out a price that would be fair and less expensive than new software.

unfortunatly we have many many custom parts which need to be created now and in the future. Seems we have had the ability to tap with the trumpf now for a while but noone has taken the time to get the process completed.

Check the driver manual from metalsoft please, it would give some clues , ot call metalsoft directly to ask them support it.
