    lathe manufacturers

I currently have a Sherline lathe, and I'm bumping up against it's limitations - power, accuracy, dependability, spindle hole, etc.

I need to step up to a larger, better CNC lathe.

I am aware of 2 options - Microkinetics and Syil C6.

Microkinetics - I currently use Mach 3, and the screenshots of the controller software that they require you to use doesn't impress me. Heard good things about the company, but prefer not to be locked into a proprietary software package.

Syil- doesn't look like they have a collet option, certainly not 5C. New on the market. This is certainly an option, but the .0015 accuracy is too big for me. A potential .003" difference in threads will cause me lots of headaches.

Anyway, is there any pre-engineered systems out there other than these 2 companies, in the under $10k market?

    Thanks
    Scott
