Paul,

Yes it is a brilliant product, it is due to be released at IMTS in September. The price will be awesome as well. Typical of BobCAD, it is a quality product at a price the user can afford. BobCAD will be posting more info on the machine in the coming weeks. BobCAD are taking calls about the machine, I suggest you PM CNCDude about it or call BobCAD on 727 442 3554

What a coincidence. I just received my new Seig X3 from Lathemaster yesterday. The Barracuda looks like it is the same mill. Haven't used mine yet, still setting it up and it isn't CNC'd but would be a really nice one if it was. It's a lot more mill than the Homier MiniMill I have, heavier and more horse power. The Barracuda will be interesting to watch, might get some ideas for when I decide to CNC mine.

I've only seen the one picture on bobcad's website. It looks nice, but nothing special. I really like the 12 feet of x axis travel. Gotta love typos.

If they decided to drive the entire Z axis and not just the quill (kind of looks that way since the z axis handle is removed but the quill handle is still there) this could be a very nice machine for those who don't want to get their hands dirty with a conversion.

I would pay about $4000 for the machine + software if it was using acme threads, $5000 if it used ballcrews.

Got my X3 running today. Sweet machine. Real quality compared to some others (which I own). Dealing with Bob Bertrand is first rate too. Good service and fast delivery. Not associated with Lathemaster, just one impressed customer.

Couldn't really tell you about the price. I ordered a lot of tooling, accessories and a cabinet for it at the same time. Bob just said "It'll be this much". I said "OK send it". Got one crate, 568 lbs and one box, 30 lbs.

I just order my X3 from Bob, and it was $1073 shipped to NJ. $895 for the mill, the rest is shipping.

It comes with a nice wood crate. Other than that just what you read on Siegs website.
Bob said he is bringing in more for X-mas, reserve them now!

Also Industrial has one x3 that is almost finished being CNC'd and Bob said if anyone wants it to give industrial a buzz.

My CNC shopping total so far for a 4 axis set up with ball screws and rotary table is topping $2500, so add the 1000 for the mill im still only at $3500. Figure another $500 in motor mounts and such.
