    CNC tool and cutter grinder

Hi New to the forum and was hoping to get a little bit of help.

I'm looking for an alternative to the Makino CNJ5u-H for cutting & grinding tooling http://www.makinoseiki.co.jp/english.../cnj5u/01.html, ideally from a Euro maker.

You should look for NumRoto software. It is hands down the best software out there.

    www.numroto.com

They have a list of machine manufaturers that use their software. I have personally used Star machines and have been extremely pleased.

This is the machine that I run ( http://www.schuttetgm.com/305.htm ). This machine & the Schutte software are great.

    • 5-axis (A,C,X,Y,Z)
    • 5-wheelpack magazine
    • Windows XP
    • Siemens 840D (open)
    • Linear motors (thats correct! )

Video of the machine in action (not my video).

Very nice machine Switcher! I like the drawer design wheel changer, ours uses a carousel - 4 position, they just came out with a 6, though I don't quite see the use for it myself.

Those linear motors definetly haul @ss!

    Thanks for the help

I contacted Schütte in Germany at the start of this project, but never got a response. I will have to contact them again, more so now that I have pulled out of discussions with Walter.

Also looking at the TX7+ from ANCA http://www.anca.com.au/Products/Machines/TX7.aspx

Charles, what type of tools are you grinding?

The Walter is a great drill pointing machine... and that's about where it ends.

To be honest I have no idea, I’m only the buyer. Only know that the tooling os for the production of mobile phone chassis.

The specs for the machines I have found have been reviewed by the project engineer in our production team. I am guessing it was him that had selected the Makino machine in the first place.

Schutte also has a smaller & larger machine (besides the 305).

About the only thing that the linear motors are prob. good for is rapids, a grinding wheel can only handle so much.

Is the Anca the machine that has the dressing wheel mounted on the A-axis all the time? I like that idea a lot, that would save on setup time.

We have about 10 of these machines in the shop I work at.

    http://www.rollomatic.ch/prod620main.php?mach=620

They are nice because they have a robotic arm in the machine for changing parts. we leave ours running throughout the weekend with nobody around for lights out machining. They are very nice machines.
