Import milling machine direct from Asia?

There are many different types of milling machines that are made in Asia, machines like IH, Lathemaster, RungFu etc. among many others. I know about companies that sell these machines in US, United Kingdom etc. But i was currious to know about anyone here has imported a machine directly from Asia? And anyone know about one or more companies in Asia with a web-site?

I imported the SX3 mill and the C6B lathe directly from www.siegind.com in Shanghai this spring. Had no problems.

Did you save much money on that?

But I`m looking for a bigger machine, something like a IH or Latemaster machine. Anyone knows about a company that sells machines like that?

You would save some 200-300 $ on the direct price compared to import from UK or Germany. Most important for me is that they don't add any VAT in China. Then I automatically won't have to pay VAT to more than one country. You would get the best price at Grizzly - I think, but then you must have a 110V supply.

If you buy direct, you run the risk of getting screwed. You wire transfer your money and get nothing in return. Not even a middle finger. You'll never hear from them again, and you won't be able to do anything about it.

Importers frequently have someone physically in China to take care of the final transaction in person. No money is handed over until the guy actually sees the goods, ready to be shipped.

This would certainly be risky with small unknown companies, but Sieg is from what I've seen a very serious company. I bought 3 lathes from them in 2004 and a lathe + 2 SX3's this year. I had no problems. The goods came both times in excellent order. I would trust them again.
