Sore throats... moving from flood to microdrop or cold air vortex?

I mill mostly aluminum, with some small amounts of light cuts in brass and stainless.

Right now I have flood cooling with Rustlick. I think WS-11. I've had it in the sump for several months. It doesn't smell like it's gone rancid, but it does smell oily, and I think it's responsible for giving me the sore throats and headaches I've been getting in the shop lately. It might be a mold problem, but I've been good about keeping the humidity down with a dehumidifyer.

I'm thinking of moving to a micro drop system based on vegetable oil like the trico microdrop or fogbuster. My other option would be to go completely dry with a vortex cold air gun. I know enough to stay away from mist systems.

I'd like not to have to wipe off my parts as well.

    Anybody have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    -Jeff

I ran into that also, even with fresh coolant and a clean tank. Try a differnt brand of coolant like Kool Mist and mix it as week as you dare. We spray that and have no problems.
