LOL, thats funny, anyway a mill/drill or Bridgeport and a rotary table is what ya need along with cutters, measuring devices, etc....
Take a look at http://www.industrialhobbies.com/ and http://tormach.com/ for completed cnc mills or if you are going to do a conversion look at these: This one is the one I have http://www.wttool.com/product-exec/p...ovetail_Column Also http://www.grizzly.com/products/mach-specs.aspx?key=480 Grizzly #G0519 is also in the class of machines I have listed, they are called square column mills and are 750 to 1100lbs. Anything smaller than these such as the X3 style mills like grizzley g0463 are too light at 350 lbs and wont do what you want with 1/2 in steel. Also look at the bridgeport knee mill style mills like grizzley g9901 or similar from jet, or 10 other brands. Dont mess with a roun d column mill drill. Also read everything you can in the mill forums here and the gecko servodrive and mach3 software forums here for a couple months and you will start to get an idea how to procede. Dave
No prob, But ya might seriously consider a name change or if their is no option to change it, cancel it and sign back up with something different. I would hate for you to miss out on good help and info from people that might have a bad opinion of the handle and not respond to your questions. A lot of old guys and medium old guys (me) around here. Have a good one , Dave
for the records, I agree on the name change thing.
Also, I am in the same line of work. For what you are trying to make - I'd consider a CNC Plasma torch setup. MUCH faster, No accuracy, to speak of, is needed and it will cost a TON less.
I just got the Grizzly G3617 and it will need a TON of work to make what you speak of.
