Well if you doing heavy cutting mostly i would stay away from the haas, there are some other real good machines out there the Sharp from what i have heard and what i have read is a good machine, very solid,(so i hear not sure never ran one) and they are very good on price http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34266
this is a thread that has been discused lately
also i would look into the daewoo's

I am checking them out right now. My boss really likes the Toyoda AF1000 and they are probably better than Hass but we dont do heavy cutting all of our steel comes in an 1/8 of an inch to a 1/4 over. Two Toyodas that have the same specs as the vf 3 yt by haas are 50k less but haas has more options such as the probe included.
