Drilling a .010 hole

I need to drill a .010 hole about .060 deep...I need a short drill so there more rigidity. I am making sight pins for archery sights.

I don't know how many you need, but you might be better off having them "drilled" on an EDM machine.

This may not work for your application, but if I need a whole bunch of holes in a line the way I think you do for the sight pins, I am lazy and usually cheat by milling or engraving half-round grooves in two separate pieces and bolting them together.
Last used that on a fuel atomiser, as I didn't fancy drilling dozens of .012 holes .500 deep!

One picture is worth a thousand words!

So is the 0.010" hole you need the main hole that the lens fits in? or ??

I bought a few .010" drills lately from Travers Tool. They had a pretty good selection, the shank is 1mm, I believe, and the flute length is reasonably short and stiff. I managed to drill without a starter spot....didn't think I had anything that would make a good starter dimple for it anyways.

Oh, I used a spindle speeder to run it at 15,000 rpm. I went real real slow on the feed.....about .5 ipm in 303 stainless......I did not want to spoil the job. I managed to drill about 30 holes per drill, only penetrating about .015 material thickness.
