The new guy on the block

Hi there, i'm completely new to the world of CNC , i have been wanting to build a machine for a couple of years now and i´ve decided to give it a shot, of course i have no idea where to start.
i work at a company dedicated to informatics, so i could tear up like a dozen of old printers for steppers, and i started to think what i could build with them. ahaa , a CNC, but besides the steppers i have no idea where to start. i`ve been looking though the net for some plans or schematics and found none, so im kind of lost in the myst.

any help, tips, or anything else is most welcome.

    THX.

Well you're definately in the right place!
Best advice would be to go right back through the "diy wood router" section to the beginning and have a read through. There's plenty of good stuff in there!

I think machine is complex. He even made linear bearings. Check out luberth.com he is also the one that admires that machine. There are planty of simpler design machines. Don't start making your LAST machine First. I know because I have been planning the machine for last two months and I had parts for it for past two months. KISS it. (Keep It Simple) and just do it.

Try majosoft.com. I went back to luberths page and tried to locate the page that I was looking on yesterday and it must have been a different site. What that page contained is different concepts of a designs, its pros and cons, but no detail drawings. Majosoft has plans but I never downloded them.
