Mfg quote.com

Thinking about trying out a subscribtion. Anyone want to go in partners, share the cost? Looking for a moldmaker, fabricator, woodworking, or rapid protoyper, etc.

I believe a second category cost twice as much as one so there would be no cost savings

Hmmmm. So, how much is one catagory? Second? Third?
Seems like there would be some advantage.

I am in for one category and it costs me $395 per month.
I would recomend saving your money for something else though. I have been on for almost a year now and haven't got but one small job from there. I almost wish I hadn't done it but it has taught me alot about quoting prices and what other people are quoting and what people are looking for in parts. If you do decide to subscribe get yourself a box of pencils and extra ink for the printer, you will go through them.

Exclamation mfgquote.com problems

For all of you out there that are thinking to join mfgquote.com - DO NOT!
They are considered to be a scam, fraud that will take your money and deliver nothing. And then will tell you that is your fault... and actually it is because you trust them.
If I had known it in advance I will be saving today $6,000 and a lot of headache.
Go to: mfgsucks.com for more info or to tell your story.

mfg.com looks like a good way to weed out your competition. They'll make a major investment in the service and time to quote without any offsetting income or profit. How many years can that continue?

find one

Hi sprew,

If I was you I would find someone to recommend mfg.com. I have been interested in this deal for about 3 years. they still send me emails everyone week or so.

I have never seen or heard a positive reference for this company. Why would they do anything for you after you send them money. what could possibly motivate them to send you a job over any of their customers with a proven track record. How can they keep jobs coming through with a bunch of vendors that they don't even know.
you know how bad it can get when you send a scrap job to a customer.
without doing your own inspection you can not control quality. could you send a job to someone you don't know from your best customer and expect them to make parts in print and satisfy your purchase order.
I will keep my money and give it to my long lost uncle from nirobi who is going to send me an african diamond mine.

I was on mfg.com having to pay around 4000 for 2 category's. Bid on a couple of jobs. My story is, make sure you are able to do the job and stick to it and do not let the client add more items to the list to make (keep it simple when starting a business at first). Which prolong the delivery date and then get a bad rap from the client. Also, having to wait on a client to order to be able to pay for this cost on mfg. Needless to say mfg discontinued my account and I still have to pay the full amount, and unsure if I do pay the full amount do I still be able to quote on mfg? Not blaming anybody but myself for the situation that I'm in. This is my experience with mfg.

I do have a question, is there any other site that a small business owner to be able to quote on some work for a cnc router? I really need to find work for this machine.

I also tried MFGquote.

I have a small shop, one man operation. In 10 months I got only a couple of jobs.
Some of the quotes that beat me out were for less than I could buy material.

However, I did gain a steady customer using MFGquote. I don't use MFGquote any more and neither does my new customer.

It took me about 2 years working for this customer I aquired thru MFGquote to break even on my 6,000 dollar membership. So I guess in the long run the membership paid off
but I don't think I will ever "join up" again.

David
