Im finally getting somewhere in scrounging together the parts for my mill project, but im at the stage where i need to start saving some cash for materials to make the structure from.

How much do the materials cost for a mill? i mean ball park area?

i have all the motion hardware, spindle, servos, control gear etc, im just wondering about the table and structure.

Ive got about 500x400 mm of workable area, so its going to be reasonably big, im looking at doing a vertical mill design.

i know i havent specified a material, but was wondering what other people spent and what material they used. Aluminium may be the way i go, but i would like to see what options are out there.
