Where would the best place be to stick a power switch on a mid sized milling machine? I would guess either the head or maybe something attached to the forward part of the knee Ė if it was designed to still work if it got wet. Putting on the column seams kind of weird, thatís where it is now. One of the grizzly mills (G3102) has the power switch attached to the knee, which does look like it puts the controls in an easy to reach place. So I donno, what do you guys think?
On my Mill/drill, the spindle power switch (VFD) is up high on the side of the column, but the E-stop switch is just above knee high on the front of the machine.
This way, I can hit it with either my knee or hand (and have found by experience) that it is easy to stop everything that way.
