    Talking Roland MDX-15 / MDX-20

    Hi there!

Im keen to get the Roland MDX-15 or MDX-20.
I am looking for a small budget, low-end Desktop CNC Mill.

looking at a 5-8" Z axis capability. The size is small, about an A4 page desktop system. The only requirement is that my models are intricate and i need a machine capable of producing hi-resolution stuff.

can anyone recommend a completely build-up ready to use machine from any dealers or brand? alternatively if you have a model to sell off or to build for me, please contact me.

I have little knowledge in electronics and the DIY option is out for me.

    thank you!

    These are great machines, but...

I hope the original poster of this fairly old inquiry found out that the total Z-height on the MDX-15 and MDX-20 models is only about 2.4", due to the gantry passing over the bed at that level. High resolution isn't a problem, and they do a great job of scanning as well as being able to carve, but the Roland MDX-40 would be closer to what the OP said was required in terms of travels, although it costs more.
