You need the kit. Comes with the solvent, waylock epoxy, and the comb putty knife. Clean, put waylock down, turcite, then lightly clamp. You may need to scrape to fit with Prussian blue, and notch for oil grooves, depending on what your doing.

Hi
do you know who sell such kit and turcite?
How you machine oil groove ? With hand router etc?
is there manual about changing turcite? Or is it on youtube.com etc?
After you clean scrap old turcite out, put epoxy and new turcite, and after this cured in 24 hours, what is next?
Put machine back? or you need machine new turcite surface?
Put table on the even bigger machine and machine?
I bought old leadwell machine and need change turkite on Z axis. old owner said that turcite changed on X and Y axis 5 yers ago.
How often need to change turcite on machine if machine work 1 shift 10 hours?
Thanks
Aram
If the Turcite is done correctly, it should last a lifetime, if it's kept chip free (wipers) and gets the proper oil. Typically Turcite is had fitted to the ways, this is done by a fitter, and hand scraped in. Oil grooves are usually done on a mill, or hand done using a scraper. Fitters are getting harder and harder to find now. The turcite is then oil flaked a lot of the time to help with sticktion of the ways, but not always. I have seen it milled (very carefully ) for a rough fit, I have also seen it simply glued on and run like that. The waylock has beads in it to keep the same glue gap all the way across the surface, and the turcite is usually pretty flat. Depends on how much your willing to spend and how accurate you want the machine.
I'm not aware of a youtube video. There is a good thread here about replacing turcite on a Fadal though. Search should find it.
