fryer mc60 dropping tools and missing tool changes

I do not normally run this machine. I am manual guy learning cnc and get given the troublesome machines.

The fryer mc60 is intermittely dropping tools during tool changes and sometimes will not change tools.

Not sure where to begin. With spindle off and trying to change tools by hand tools seem to stick. like collet is not in time with opening and closing.

I do not have any owners/operators manuals for this machine.

so any help or a link to the manual would be great.

    Thanks,

    Karl

    Reply- Common problem

From the sound of it you may have either a problem w the spring washer stack in the drawbar - cracked washers or the pancake cylinder is giving you problems. Check the oil in the small attached plastic or glass reservoir. If no oil or it looks like crap and black, then the pancake cylinder needs rebuilding or replacement. If I can help further check my web site osiservicedotcom. Good luck!
