dont know if anyone can help.
im after a decent metal blade for my band saw 73".
im mainly cutting alluminium cylinder heads and alloy wheels
for melting down in my furnace.
i have tried screw fix blades but they are rubbish.
any help would be appreciated
Get a Lennox or sandvik blade.
I'm betting he doesn't want to spend that much.
Personally, I'm in agreement with you. (Blasphemey, I know, but I do not, nor have I ever, really cared that much for Starrett)
i dont actually mind spending out for a decent blade.
i have tried the starret blades from screw fix they are not
upto the job. looking at a bi metal blade on ebay m42 anyone
used these before.
Point of caution.... 2, actually....
Regardless of the quality of the blade, you've got 2 things going against you...
73" isn't very long in band-saw years, and you're cutting through stuff that very likely has some grit embedded in the surfaces.
I'm going to guess that you're using a machine that doesn't have coolant? That would make 3 things.
....And how do you get a wheel into a bandsaw that uses a 73" blade,,,,unless you're talking a vertical, and even then....
