Are these lao gai factories?
Was just wondering because I don't see any of the prisoners in the pictures.
Looks like an abandoned warehouse to me.
A friend of mine traveled to China on a sales trip for his manufacturing business. While there he was taken to a factory that looked very much like this from the pictures he showed me. What happened there surprised him.
He was offered for purchase milling machines, and other equipment. He asked how much, and was told to just tell them what he wanted to pay. They were interested in just selling the machines for any price, much to his surprise..... and why?
They simply wanted a cash flow, and to expose their products in the market. Profit was not an issue, and did not need to be, since the manufacturing costs were subsidized totally by the Chinese gov't.
How are we supposed to compete with that? That is NOT a level playing field, and if anyone is still confused at my disgust with Chinese machinery.... re-read this and let it sink in.
Lao gai, if you're not familiar, is "rehabilitation through work"... Lao gai factories are PRISON factories. Let me know how you do competing with labor costs like that.
Gotta love it.
This is a formal tool production plant, I always go, I know that in five different provinces in China such plants, CNC milling machine in my factory,
As for the prison facility, please do not buy, it is not good, but as far as I know, prison is not the production of machine tools factory, and strict management, export restrictions, if not your eyes see, the best person to see the factory I personally see that, and critical review of workers' age.
As in China, you do not like, then do not buy, each country has different subsidies,
If you think you violated China's machine, then do not buy, but you can do, do not buy any Chinese products?
I am more willing to discuss the tools and the design , not trade, because I do not WTO work, I am just a mechanical engineer.
Looks like the machines are rusting away because nobody will buy them.
Are awaiting delivery of the machine's warehouse, where I visited, pictures to you for reference
It is certainly not rust, may be butter.
