Brother vs Fanuc HSM Centers

Fanuc and Brother don't compete as often as i would've thought they would. why is that? Aside from an option to upgrade the spindle to a 24k spindle, what is the supporting thought process behind fanuc's commonly sold over Brother.

Brother is a good fast machine. Just not as well known. The main thing is fanuc has a STD fanuc control that everyone is familiar with.

I know that its stated that anyone who is familiar with a fanuc control, can be up and running on a brother in a few hours.

I want to know if anyone out there has the experience and is willing to share their opinion on going from a fanuc control to a brother control.

Well, thats not what you asked

While it's true you could be up and runnning in a few hours, the actual confort level will take a few days. Communications, parameter settings, tool setting, part set up, is all different. Some of it's much easier on a brother than a Fanuc. The brother control is dedicated to the brother machines, which I believe give a slight advantage.
