    220V/208V?

i just got a small Boxford lathe with a 3phase motor ( unsure of h.p.) that works with 360v/208v 3 phase power (it is currently wired for 208v). My shop has 220v 3 phase power, I guess my question is how big of a fire would I start by running it on 220V 3 phase. Thanks for the help.

    Thanks,Vince

You are probably not going to notice much difference, only if you start running at very high loads, the current may exceed the motor rating, so the load factor is something to watch for.
If you install a VFD you can tailor it to suit the motor rating.

If you are in the US, and you are running a phase converter, and you do not have a transformer, chances are your power is 240V. Not that it makes much of a difference.
