To make threads you need to synchronize the spindle with the Z feed. That can be done either by replacing the old lathe motor with a new motor which can be controlled electronically or by adding an encoder to the spindle so that it sends a pulse to the electronics in order that the Z can be adjusted.

Yes,thats right. I our small country between 80 -90s. we have very big production and supply of CNC lathes, mills, centers.
In my lathe main motor is 3kW. 1500rpm.In the begining i have been ready to put a fast-move motor/from citroen steering/.
I have a base to look- a old bulgarian cnc lathe.Main motor is servo. I need something like that ,but it's all greek to me about electronics.

Here more photos of the machine. I took it from one old retired man. I was in very bad condition/10years nobody has touched him/and before he was worked on only few months, and lathe was almost new it was all in rust and when he moved the machine fall down and some things-broke
It took me 2months to renew but its worth.
I buy the machine for 500lvs/~250$/ with a lot of instruments/see pic/

May be someone else can help you with the electronics. Did you try going through some of the log projects?

Have you been using the lathe? If not, may be you can make a few parts on it to see if you have any problems in the underlying machine itself. Then if you are happy with the results you can continue with the conversion.

I can't find anything useful for my case.
The machine is veeeery old it have been produced between 1950 -1970
Its very slow to work-example-i have to change some gears to make different therads and etc.I face problem only with the conception -where to find and buy exact motors and other to computerize my machine.
