    Bridgeport VMC 1000

I have a habit of posting only the problems I am having trouble figuring out and never problem/solution posts so I thought I'd post a problem we have been having with Bridgeport VMC 1000 Z axis micro switch shorting out. They have been problems with the Z axis switches on the VMC machines we have in our facility filling with coolant and shorting out. I was able to resolve this problem by fabricating and installing a splash shield directly in front of the switches along with sealing the plug cable with RTV. We haven't had any failures since and out of curiosity I opened a switch earlier today and it was bone dry.
