polished aluminum

I have seen some posts where people cut aluminum on their machines and it's clean and polished. What bit do you cut with to give it that polished look and no scratched from the cutter?

Thanks

Buy me a Beer?

Number of flutes, feed speed, chip load, and plenty of flood coolant gives a really nice finish on aluminum.

If it is the part on the guitar, that has been cut out of sheet ,that all ready looks like that on the faces, there is no machining on the face's only the outside edges

The guitar I guess was on your site, The plaque, was done on a machining centre, with V cutters & a endMill,The edges are not that great a finish, & the tappered surface has been hand finished, so you can't really look at that as straight off the machine, see if you can find something else to use as a guide as to what you want your machined finish to look like

As Mactec stated, that was done on a Fadal machining center. This is an expensive, industrial piece of machinery, and far outperforms anything in the hobby world. That finish however, can easily be achieved. The top part, where the names are, looks to be sanded to a satin finish after being machined. The chamfered portions, or bevels, are cut along the flutes of a V-bit. The pictures in the link that janbbeck posted, are not straight off the machine. They have been hand polished.
