4x6 bandsaw motor fried, UPGRADE!

I was milling and cutting metal, metal jammed between the stop and the blade and toasted the stock motor on my 4x6 bandsaw from HF, I hated that motor, was really hot running and just crappy overall. I was searching around and found this sweet motor:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW
Only costed ~$16 to ship! sweet upgrade. The only thing is that I cannot fit the belt cover on and its huge, I need a new eye ring screw thats a little longer. I cannot stall this motor so far, blade keeps falling off.

If you know how to fix the blade falling off problem, let me know I got a bimetal 6-10 variable pitch blade on this.

Jon, what was the rpm of the HF motor....I have the same saw....still boxed....but I'd like to pick up a spare motor. Thanks, Paul

Blade falling off.....this uses a regular band saw blade...so I would suspect misalignment....also if you stalled the motor...you may have put a bend on the blade...which would also cause problems.

The motor has the same rpm specs, 3450, reversable rotation.

I am thinking misalignment too, will take a look later.

If you still have the manual... It explains how to adjust the tracking...

There's a bolt on the sliding part of the tensioning mechanism. That's where the adjustment is made.

I have the same saw and I concur that the motor is truly a poor motor. Like you said Runs very hot and stalls very easily. I'm just holding out for a good cheap motor to pop up for me to grab,

anoel, that motor I linked to at ebay rocks, you should seriously grab one up. I looked around surpluscenter, and the cheapest similar motor was over $100
