    Newb Question

What are some machine brands that provide better overall performance then a Fadal or a Haas (VMC's to be specific) but still in the same price range. If you could name multiple brands that would be nice.

Pretty general question. What price range? Striped down or fully loaded HAAS? 40-50K,50-70K etc...

I thought Heidenhain did controls. The 5 axis machine at my grandfathers shop has Heidenhain controls.

Basically what I mean is like in general as far as performance/quality which machines are a step or two up from Fadal and Haas. I guess if i had to compare to a specific fadal and Haas id say compared to a Haas VF-3ss and a fadal 4020 which machines in the same price category provide better overall performance.
