    aluminum in my coolant!

whats up guys i work for a large firearms manufacturer in florida i run a mazak hcn 4000 its brand new with a consep 2000 chip conveyor. i only run 7075 aluminum and im having a horrible time with my coolant its either foaming so bad it overflows or the chips are so fine they get past the filters and into the lines in the spindle and backs up my coolant flow i need an answer or what to do? im useing trim e 206 now, ive herd of a coolant that castrol makes that lets the aluminum sink in the pan but im worried that the consep 2000 wont be able to do its job with the rotating spray drum? any suggestions guys?

Yeah, installing an in-line filtration unit is a smart investment because they always pay for themselves in short order. Keller (http://www.kellerproducts.net/inline_filter.htm) is what I'm most familiar with but there are other makers out there as well.

The foaming issue is most likely from the water being too soft (hardness<70ppm). Could be from overly rich concentrations too. What do you typically mix to and how are you verifying that? Refractometer??

I have my $0,02 here. We use 20µm and 10µm and 5µm filter bags for alluminum production machines. Maybe foam is for purpose - to have chips removed easily?
