Question HELP comprehending reversible motor wiring

HELP comprehending reversible motor wiring. I have always been happy with the mill but tonight I decided I needed to be able to bore out something when I realized I needed the opposite rotation of the boring head

ok I have wired stuff before even though this set of question make me sound incompetent

my old kempsmith mill was converted form horizontal to a vertical (probably before I was born) it has a reversible switch but only works one direction. The current motor I assume is one direction I have another 1.5hp motor I got form a friend that is on my air compressor ........I think it is a reversible (two way) motor but not sure how to tell

also is the wiring done normal to the motor and switched at switch or vs versa ?

hopefully one of ya'll can educate me so I can get this fixed tomorrow

Buy me a Beer?

The type of motor is needed in order to offer any information.
I assume the motors in question are 1 phase induction motors? If so you need the start winding and run winding terminations brought out to the terminal box, then continued to the reverser.
In a single direction motor, one end of each winding is connected internally and cannot be reversed easily.

yes the motors are defiantly single phase 110v motors , the one on the mill part of one sticker is unreadable and the other sticker just say "AOS" on the extra motor I have on the air compressor it is a "marathon" and does mention switching CCW to reverse rotation . my switch on the mill is a Square D type that's actual the only picture that came out half way viewable

I tried to get some pictures but only have a camera phone and its night time right now

Do you know if it is a capacitor start motor? The motor I use is off an air compressor and it's easy to reverse (capacitor start). Need a better pic of the label.

The motor on the mill has two capacitors so does the motor i put on the air compressor (it is not original motor)

I'll try to get some better pictures today of the labels

One will be a run cap and the other the start cap, you can swap either the start winding or the run winding to change direction, in some cases the run winding is easiest.

ok these pictures are a little better but can't get one to come out of the motor on the mill now but the marathon is the one I think is reversible but all the wiring in there has me confused bigtime

here are a few pictures hopefully there readable, the Marathon motor has two stickers one is wiring diagrams talks about swapping black wire expect there four black wires inside

There should be three together either black white orange or black white yellow depending on the current voltage it is wired for.
If you have three like that, it should identify the black to reverse with the red?
