    Nakamura TMC-2 Fanuc6T HelP!

I have a Nakamura TMC-2 w/ Fanuc 6T Model B. The Machine would not start cycle and I found in the PC parameters that 218-2 was on holding out the start cycle. Looking at the ladder, this bit should be off. I also am unable to modify any parameters. When I go to the settings page, I am also unable to modify any settings. All this happened after a cnc technician changed the bubble memory. The PC parameters have values in them, but I am unable to change them. I have another machine working with 6M controller and can change these parameters with no problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi,

Is the parameter change enable bit on. In my fanuc 11T this is located on address 8000, bit 0.

    greetings.

    Hello EPTech,

I am getting the 100 alarm when I set the parameter change toggle switch so the controller is recognizing this. I was told today that I need to make sure the controller is in an E-Stop condition. However, on this machine when I press Estop, it kills power to the controller also. This evening I will be unplugging the IO cables to the controller, forcing it into an estop state to see if it changes anything.

Have you seen anything else that can prevent modifying the parameters?
    Thanks.

The controller warns you that it is in a state where parameters can be changed. Discard the alarm with RESET to proceed. On top of that my Fanuc 11T has to be in MDI mode to input parameters. This may also be the case with yours. I will look into the alarm 100 and get back to you...

    Hello EPTech,

Last night I unplugged the IO cables, powered up the machine and finally was able to modify the parameters. I guess this forced the controller into an Estop condition, since on this Nakamura, pressing the Estop killed the controller power also? I was still getting the 218-2 bit on from the ladder which looking at the ladder printout for the TMC-2 should have been off with the conditions for that rung. I was able to modify parameter 3002 which had two bits declaring if the machine was a TMC2 or TMC4 and managed to get 218-2 to turn off allowing me to start cycle. The 3002 parameter looked like it should have been set correctly for my machine but I will have to try running a program today to see if everything works OK.

Thanks so much for the replies!
    Eric
