    where to find a cnc 4th axis table "servo"??

    its for a plm 2000. the machine is dos based and has an anamatics 4 axis controller. I dont want to spend a fortune. a saw a sherline? any comments on this would be appreciated

    I saw someone using this over at cnctoolkit yahoo group, he said it was a zero backlash 1:100 harmonic drive.

    Some were also using these for 5 axis gantrys, these are out of stock.

    The verticle mount gear motor has a servo on it, you probably just need to put an encoder on it, otherwize you could change it out for a different one.

    I have a h/v rotary table from littlemachineshop that I havent quite gotten on my mill but converted and am almost there.

    I ended up with one of those vertical mount gear motors (new) in a crate of surplus "junk" that I had bought. I checked with Amtek regarding the motor, it is rated at 583 oz./in. of torque, making the final output a whopping 344 lb./ft. of torque at 99 volts D.C. Now mine has an encoder on the motor shaft. In the crate of stuff that the motor was in, were items that looked like that they were from some kind of robotic mail server cart and this was the drive motor. Now if I just had a use for it.
    If it's not nailed down, it's mine.
    If I can pry it loose, it's not nailed down.
