    understanding Feeds/spds in machinist handbook?

I have the machinst handbook and I am trying to understand the feeds and speeds for milling? Can anyone help me with some of these tables? My cnc masters supra docs list feeds in fpm(feet per min). I understand that this is based upon spindle rpm and tool dia. So that gives me the speed.
What I dont undestand is the tables give in/tooth feed rates. Doesnt the feed rate depend on the spindle speed?

The inch per tooth rates are not speed dependent. If you have a four flute endmill, and the feedrate is .002" per tooth, you want to travel .008" for every revolution of the cutter. So if you are spinning at 1000 rpm, that would be 8.000 inches per minute. Make sense? Drills are always considered one flute, so the feed is per revolution.
