Pls. check your number again. This is not a DIN number. Looks like a German Material Number. CLK here:http://www.metallograf.de/start-eng.htm
Could it be 1.2243? I could not find 1.2293 - does not exist.
Clk on "MaterialCardindex" on left side. Find 1.2243 and clk on it.
For more details go to "Home" page and clk on "Index Keyword Change"

Could it be 1.2243? German Cold work Tool steel.
61CrSiV 5, C=0.57-0.65, SI=0.7-1.0, Mn=0.6-0.9, P=0.035, S=0.035
Heat treat 850-880 deg C, quench in oil, temper 180-300 C, HRC 62
draw 100 C = RC 62, 200 C = RC 61, 300 C = RC 57, 400C = RC 52.
For High Pressure Cold Work Tooling like:Coining dies, Metal shears, cold extruding tools etc..
No direct US equivalent but I would look in the S-1 to S-7 steels.
